Anıl Araç expands family apple orchard to 1,200 decares
Anıl Araç, a 25-year-old university graduate, has expanded his family's apple orchard in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri, Turkey, from 470 to 1,200 decares over a three-year period. After graduating from Erciyes University with a degree in International Trade and Logistics in 2022, Araç returned to his family's land to apply modern agricultural techniques and trade knowledge.
Utilizing government subsidies and interest-free loans, Araç has implemented modern systems that significantly increase efficiency. He noted that the new systems allow him to achieve the same yield from 300–350 decares that previously required 1,000 decares under older methods.
With an annual production capacity of 3,000 tons, the business now exports apples to 18 countries. Primary export markets include India, Libya, Syria, Iran, and Iraq, in addition to sales within the domestic Turkish market.
