Şanlıurfa healthcare sees equipment upgrades amid hospital delays

The Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate is increasing medical device capacity across public hospitals in the region. As part of planning for 2025 and 2026, new generation equipment has been delivered to various facilities, including dental tomography, dialysis, anesthesia, ventilators, and surgical microscopes. These investments aim to strengthen medical equipment in districts such as Ceylanpınar, Siverek, and Viranşehir to reduce the need for patient transfers to other provinces for advanced diagnosis and treatment.

In contrast to these equipment upgrades, HÜDA PAR Şanlıurfa Provincial Chairman Faruk Polat has criticized the ongoing delays regarding the Şanlıurfa City Hospital. Polat noted that although the foundation was laid in 2015 and 8.7 billion TL has been spent, the hospital has yet to become fully operational. He highlighted issues regarding infrastructure, such as burst pipes and flooding, and raised concerns about the management of the construction process and surrounding land use.
