ANMAT bans sale of SUPERCygonazo rodenticide in Argentina

Argentina’s National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has banned the sale, distribution, use, and advertising of the rodenticide ‘SUPERCygonazo. Rodenticida Dosis Única’ throughout the country.

The ban, formalized via Disposition 5707/2026, follows an investigation into the manufacturer, Mendizabal, Ferraro y Larrinaga S. R. L. The company’s authorization had expired in 2025 because it failed to complete the mandatory five-year renewal process. Consequently, all associated product registrations were automatically canceled.

ANMAT officials discovered the product was still being marketed despite the lack of valid sanitary records. Attempts to notify the company were unsuccessful, as postal notifications were returned because the firm had moved from its registered address in Munro, Buenos Aires, without informing the regulatory body.
