Anna-Carina Woitschack revisits Leipzig site of her DSDS debut 15 years later
Singer‑songwriter Anna‑Carina Woitschack returned to the Petersbogen square in Leipzig, the spot where a DSDS casting truck stood 15 years ago and launched her career. In an Instagram video she said, “It’s just crazy, it’s just 15 years,” reflecting on how fast time has passed. At 17 she was one of over 46 000 applicants, reached the Top 10 and finished eighth in the 2011 season, which led to her first album a year later.
Since then she has appeared on several TV formats: she won RTL’s Die Verräter in 2023, placed seventh in the 2025 Dschungelcamp, and in 2026 won the 19th season of Let’s Dance together with partner Evgeny Vinokurov. She used the visit to encourage followers to pursue their dreams, posting, “Don’t be discouraged. Believe in your dreams. Follow your own path.” The former casting spot is now a construction site, but the location remains symbolic for her.
