Anna Faris and Jaime Pressly respond to Chuck Lorre memoir

Showrunner Chuck Lorre has faced criticism following the release of his memoir, ‘Sitcom’, which contains disparaging remarks about former ‘Mom’ star Anna Faris. Lorre wrote that he was initially reluctant to cast Faris as Christy Plunkett because he was unsure if she suited the material. He further claimed that his initial instincts were proven correct after Faris left the series in 2020 for what he described as “mysterious reasons that were not mysterious to anyone on the show.”

Anna Faris responded to the comments on Instagram, describing the words as “painful” but noting that she loved her time on the series and remains grateful for the opportunity.

Co-star Jaime Pressly also weighed in, defending the cast and crew. Pressly described the group as “an incredible cast of women” and emphasized the positive experience of working with the team during her seven years on the show.
