Anna Faris responds to Chuck Lorre’s memoir comments
Actress Anna Faris has expressed that she was “hurt” by comments made by sitcom creator Chuck Lorre in his new memoir, “Sitcom”. In the book, Lorre admits he was initially reluctant to cast Faris in the CBS comedy “Mom”, questioning if she was appropriate for the material. He further suggested that her departure from the series in 2020 for “mysterious reasons” vindicated his original doubts.
Faris addressed the remarks on Instagram, stating, “Yikes. Yes, I read a few things. I really didn’t see that coming. Of course it hurts.” Despite her reaction, she emphasized her gratitude for the seven seasons she spent on the show, noting that she never took the opportunity for granted and remains proud of the work the cast and crew produced together.
During her response, Faris also shared a personal milestone, revealing that she has been sober for a year and a half. She noted the irony of portraying a character in recovery on “Mom” while living through the experience herself, adding that she is now healthy, working, and “happier than I’ve been in a long time.”
