Anna Heiser reports permanent facial numbness after jaw surgery

Reality TV personality Anna Heiser has shared that she continues to experience permanent numbness in parts of her face following a Bimax jaw surgery performed nearly four years ago. The 36-year-old revealed on Instagram that the right side of her lower lip and a portion of her chin remain numb.

The surgical procedure, which involved repositioning the upper and lower jaws to correct a significant malocclusion, was a long and painful process. Heiser noted that her doctor had warned her prior to the operation that any sensation not returned after three years would likely be permanent.

Despite the lasting sensory issues and a recovery period that required ten weeks of a liquid diet, Heiser stated she does not regret the decision. She explained that the procedure helped her overcome deep insecurity regarding her teeth and smile, which had previously caused her to hide her mouth when being filmed.
