Anna Leigh Waters to headline pickleball showdown in Manila

World No. 1 pickleball player Anna Leigh Waters has announced her return to Manila on December 9, 2026, to headline the IAM Worldwide Pickleball Showdown at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The 19-year-old American, who holds the top rankings in women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, recently completed a three-day visit to the Philippines.

The upcoming event is presented by health and wellness brand IAM Worldwide and US-based equipment manufacturer Franklin Sports. The showcase aims to promote an active lifestyle and grow the sport within the Philippines. During her recent visit, Waters participated in the Franklin Asia Pickleball Showcase as part of a regional tour that includes stops in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Waters, who has amassed over 200 Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) titles, credited her mother and coach, Leigh Waters, for helping her maintain a balance between her professional career and personal life. Franklin Sports executives indicated plans to further develop the sport in the region through youth clinics, tournament support, and expanded equipment distribution.
