Elisa Isoardi faces backlash over 'dead pool' list in social media post
Elisa Isoardi, host of the Rai 1 program ‘Bar Centrale’, has faced social media backlash after accidentally including a ‘dead pool’ list in an Instagram story. The list, visible on a whiteboard in the background of a behind-the-scenes photo, featured 22 famous Italian figures alongside their ages. Notable names on the list included actor Lino Banfi, songwriter Mogol, Sophia Loren, and Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
Many users criticized the list as being in poor taste, particularly regarding the inclusion of elderly figures and those with health issues. Isoardi later addressed the controversy on Instagram, stating she was deeply sorry for the incident and had experienced a sleepless night. While she clarified that she did not compile the list herself, she took full responsibility for the oversight.
Several individuals named on the list responded with humor. Lino Banfi, who was at the top of the list, reacted ironically, stating he was not offended and even defended Isoardi. Mogol also responded with levity, noting that death is a universal inevitability. The incident has sparked broader discussions regarding social media etiquette and the sensitivity required when featuring public figures.
