Anna Mei attempts gravel bike world record in Cesena

Italian endurance cyclist Anna Mei will attempt to break the world record for the longest distance covered on a gravel bike in 24 hours. The challenge is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 3, at the Ippodromo del Savio in Cesena, Italy.

Mei, an accomplished long-distance athlete who previously set a Guinness World Record for distance covered by a woman in 24 hours on an indoor track, will transition from smooth velodrome surfaces to the sandy, unpaved track of the hippodrome. To claim the record, she must exceed the current mark of 502.061 kilometers set by Spanish cyclist Maria Josè Silvestre in May of last year.

The event is supported by Hippo Group, Vulcaflex, and Team Cicli Sambi, and aims to raise awareness for a charitable cause.
