Anna Nordqvist and Angela Stanford named 2026 Solheim Cup captains

Anna Nordqvist and Angela Stanford have been named captains for the 2026 Solheim Cup, which will be held at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands from September 11 to 13.

Nordqvist, a Swedish veteran, succeeds Suzann Pettersen as captain of Team Europe. She has selected Caroline Hedwall and Mel Reid as her vice-captains. The European roster includes experienced players such as Charley Hull and Carlota Ciganda, along with debutants like Lottie Woad, Julia Lopez Ramirez, Nastasia Nadaud, and Mimi Rhodes. Wild card selection Leona Maguire was also announced.

Angela Stanford will lead Team USA in their title defense, taking over from Stacy Lewis. Stanford’s leadership team includes vice-captains Kristy McPherson and Paula Creamer, with Brittany Lang serving as an assistant captain.

Dame Laura Davies has emphasized the importance of Charley Hull taking a central leadership role for the European squad, noting Hull's strong recent form in major championships.
