Anna Nordqvist retires from LPGA Tour to captain Solheim Cup

Swedish golfer Anna Nordqvist has officially retired from the LPGA Tour after an 18-year professional career. During her farewell at the FM Championship, the 39-year-old reflected on her longevity and revealed that she nearly quit the sport in 2012 and 2013.

Nordqvist credited her younger brother for saving her career, noting that he stepped in to caddie for her during a difficult summer in 2012. Since that period, she went on to win three major titles and five Solheim Cups.

Nordqvist is now transitioning into a leadership role as the captain of the European Solheim Cup team. She expressed a desire to foster a calm atmosphere and avoid drama, leveraging her long-standing relationships with many of the players to build trust and understand their individual personalities.
