Anna Pikaliuk gains Croatian citizenship and joins national gymnastics team
Anna Pikaliuk, a 19-year-old former Ukrainian rhythmic gymnast and national team member, has officially obtained Croatian citizenship. Following her naturalization, she has secured a spot on the Croatian senior national gymnastics team.
Pikaliuk arrived in Croatia 18 months ago at the age of 18, initially moving from Kyiv to Vienna before joining the GK Aura club. She originally came to work as a coach, but her passion for competition led her to return to active training. She expressed deep gratitude to her coach, Nika Crevatini, the GK Aura club, the Croatian Gymnastics Federation, and the Croatian Olympic Committee for helping her pursue her athletic dreams.
The Croatian Gymnastics Federation has submitted a request to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) for her license, which would allow her to compete under the Croatian flag. If the license is processed in time, she may make her debut as a representative of Croatia at the Aura Cup in Zagreb.
