Anna Podmanická seeks funding for quantum engineering studies in Australia

Anna Podmanická, a prominent young scientist from Slovakia, has been accepted into the world’s first undergraduate quantum engineering program at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Podmanická, who previously won the prestigious global environmental competition The Earth Prize alongside Czech student Tomáš Čermák for their work on removing antibiotics and pharmaceuticals from wastewater, aims to use quantum technologies to develop new environmental tools.

Despite her academic success and high International Baccalaureate scores, Podmanická faces significant financial hurdles. To secure her student visa and enroll, she must cover her first year of tuition and living expenses in Sydney by mid-October. She has launched a public crowdfunding campaign on the Donio platform with a target of 60,000 euros to fund her studies.
