Anna Proclemer, celebrated Italian theater actress, dies in Rome

Anna Proclemer, a prominent figure in Italian theater and cinema, has passed away in Rome. A native of Trento, she debuted in 1942 and enjoyed a prolific career spanning stage, film, and dubbing.

Proclemer was recognized for her work with the Piccolo Teatro di Milano under Giorgio Strehler and her performances in plays by Pirandello and Shaw. She also had a notable career as a voice actress, providing dubbing for international stars such as Greta Garbo and Anne Bancroft.

Her daughter, Antonia Brancati, announced the passing, which occurred shortly before Proclemer's 90th birthday. A public viewing is scheduled at the Campidoglio in Rome.
