Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvelas enter legal dispute over concert fees
A major legal and financial dispute has erupted between Greek singer Anna Vissi and composer Nikos Karvelas following her large-scale concert at OAKA. The conflict centers on unpaid fees and intellectual property rights.
Karvelas claims he is owed significant sums, with some reports citing figures between 200,000 and 300,000 euros related to the OAKA performance. He also alleges that he was excluded from the concert and that his guests were relocated to inferior seating. Vissi’s legal representative, Michalis Dimitropoulos, has rejected these claims, stating that the production company, D&A Live Concerts, has fulfilled all contractual obligations and paid 250,000 euros to AUTODIA as a deposit.
Vissi has accused Karvelas of extortion, claiming he demanded 1.5 million euros shortly before the concert. Dimitropoulos noted that Karvelas may owe Vissi approximately 500,000 euros in prior loans and transfers. The dispute has reached a point where out-of-court settlements are no longer being pursued, and both parties are preparing for legal action.
The fallout has impacted Vissi’s professional plans, including the postponement of her residency at the Athens Arena and the potential for Karvelas to legally prohibit her from performing his songs.
