Annapolis house explosion leaves one dead and one injured

A house explosion in the Cape St. Claire area of Annapolis, Maryland, resulted in one death and one serious injury on Wednesday afternoon. Emergency crews responded to the 1100 block of Green Holly Drive, where they found a two-story structure that had partially collapsed, with the second floor falling onto the first.

A woman died at the scene after being found in cardiac arrest, while a male homeowner was airlifted to a burn center with significant injuries. A police officer also sustained a leg injury during the response.

Investigators are looking into whether a recent propane delivery contributed to the incident. A vendor reportedly resupplied the home with propane approximately one hour before the explosion occurred. While the propane tank has been secured, officials are still analyzing doorbell camera footage to identify the service provider and are conducting a search of the debris with the assistance of a search and rescue dog to ensure no one else is trapped in the wreckage.
