Anne Arundel County announces October caregiver support and dementia workshops
The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities has announced several programs for caregivers scheduled for October 2026.
Educational workshops include a “Dementia 101” session on October 15 at the Busch Annapolis Library, focusing on understanding dementia and developing coping strategies. On October 28, the department will host the “Dementia Live Experience,” a simulation designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of cognitive impairment and sensory changes.
Additionally, the department will facilitate caregiver support groups throughout the month. In-person meetings are scheduled for Glen Burnie on October 14 and Annapolis on October 20. A virtual support group will also be held via Zoom on October 19. These sessions aim to provide a space for family and military caregivers to connect and share experiences.
