Anne Hathaway announces hiatus after busy year of film releases

Actress Anne Hathaway is taking a temporary hiatus from the public eye following an exceptionally busy year in film. After the October 2 release of the psychological thriller ‘Verity’, Hathaway announced she would be stepping away from intense promotional schedules to focus on her personal life and her third child with husband Adam Shulman.

Hathaway’s recent filmography includes five major projects: ‘Mother Mary’, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, ‘The Odyssey’, ‘The End of Oak Street’, and ‘Verity’. In ‘The Odyssey’, she portrays Queen Penelope, a role she noted represents a ‘new chapter’ in her career where she can explore characters sitting in their own power.

The break is not permanent. Hathaway is currently linked to the pre-production of ‘The Princess Diaries 3’ and is scheduled to begin filming ‘Days of Thunder 2’ alongside Tom Cruise in March 2027.
