Anne Hathaway emerges as Oscar frontrunner for ‘The Odyssey’

The 2027 Academy Awards race is gaining momentum as industry analysts and prediction markets begin to identify early frontrunners. Anne Hathaway has emerged as a leading contender for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Penelope in ‘The Odyssey’.

According to Polymarket traders, Hathaway holds a 67% probability of winning the award. Industry analysts from SlashFilm and Gold Derby also identify her as a primary frontrunner, with Gold Derby placing her odds of a nomination above 95%. Universal has reportedly decided to campaign Hathaway in the supporting actress category rather than the lead actress category.

In a mid-October update of the Feinberg Forecast, Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter examined potential contenders following recent film festivals in Toronto, Zurich, and Newport Beach. While Hathaway is a central figure in the current conversation, other films such as ‘La Bola Negra’, ‘Wild Horse Nine’, and ‘You Can See Everything’ are also attracting critical attention as the awards season progresses.
