Anne-Marie Duff reflects on losing her mother and brother

Actress Anne-Marie Duff has spoken candidly about navigating grief following the recent deaths of her mother, Mary, and her brother, Eddie. The two losses occurred within months of each other.

In an interview with Good Housekeeping UK, Duff shared that she took an 18-month hiatus from her acting career to support her family. She noted that her brother had been battling aggressive early-onset Alzheimer's since his diagnosis in 2017. Despite the challenges of his condition, Duff stated that the experience allowed the siblings to become much closer through love and connection.

Eddie passed away at age 57 due to pneumonia brought on by the disease. Duff also reflected on her decision to accept an OBE, noting she did so as a tribute to her mother.
