Anneka Svenska: Presenter offered police course over social media post
Wildlife presenter and animal rights campaigner Anneka Svenska was approached by police at her home in Kent following a complaint from MBR Acres, a beagle testing facility in Cambridgeshire.
The confrontation stemmed from a video Svenska posted in January criticizing the facility's disposal of dead animals. MBR Acres, owned by Marshall BioResources, accused her of "making false allegations." Police offered Svenska a "community resolution" for a low-level offense, which would have required her to complete "thinking skills" and "impact of crime" online courses within two weeks.
Svenska declined to sign the resolution after seeking legal advice, noting that the document would record her as an "offender" and potentially disclose the incident in DBS checks. She maintained that her claims were accurate and verified. Following her refusal, police dropped the case and took no further action.
