Anni B Sweet releases new album Alegría

Spanish artist Anni B Sweet has released her new album, ‘Alegría’, marking her first solo project in seven years. The album represents a significant stylistic shift for the Madrid-based singer, moving away from her previous melancholic folk roots toward a sound influenced by 1960s psychedelia, pop, and Brazilian tropicalism.

In this project, Anni B Sweet took on expanded creative roles, serving as a songwriter, composer, instrumentalist, and arranger. The lyrical content explores emotional maturity and the capacity to find joy and resilience following difficult personal experiences and relationship endings. Musically, the work is characterized by rich instrumental layers and a focus on rhythm, drawing inspiration from artists such as Gal Costa.
