Annie Batungbakal Musical opens at Newport Performing Arts Theater

The musical “Bongga Ka, ’Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical,” featuring the hits of the band Hotdog, has opened at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. The production is a collaboration between Newport World Resorts, VIVA Communications Inc., and The Philippine STAR.

Atasha Muhlach stars in the titular role of Annie Batungbakal, performing alongside Sam Concepcion, KD Estrada, Jeff Moses, and Anthony Rosaldo. The cast also includes veteran performers Jackie Lou and John Lapus. The show recreates 1970s Manila through retro fashion, comedy, and music, including tracks such as “Bongga Ka Day” and “Annie Batungbakal.”

During the opening, Atasha Muhlach’s parents, Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach, attended to support her performance. The musical is scheduled to run until October 24.
