Annie Ernaux's work receives new Basque translation and photographic project

The work of Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux is being expanded in the Basque language through a new project involving fourteen photographs of discarded clothes left after intimacy. This experimental work, which includes commentary, explores themes of eroticism, death, cancer, the past, and political reflection.

This publication is distinct from previous Basque translations of Ernaux's work. It incorporates contributions from Marc Marie, who is both a partner to the author and a contributor to the text, as well as the interdisciplinary use of photography. The translator describes the process as a collaborative effort rather than an isolated task, reflecting the contemporary era and the specific linguistic nuances of the Eastern Basque dialect.
