Annika Backlund AB faces bankruptcy amid multi-million SEK debts

Annika Backlund AB, a real estate group with 27 subsidiaries, has been filed for bankruptcy following unpaid debts. The bankruptcy petition was initiated by another real estate company after failing to receive payments totaling approximately 7 million SEK. According to the Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogden), no funds were found to cover this specific debt.

The financial instability extends beyond the single unpaid invoice. Annika Backlund AB reportedly has total debts exceeding 42 million SEK registered with Kronofogden, while its subsidiaries face additional debts of approximately 31 million SEK. If the bankruptcy proceeds, the properties held by the subsidiaries may be treated as assets and sold to settle the group's obligations.

This follows a previous bankruptcy earlier this year for Annika Backlund-hem AB, which involved over 16 million SEK in unpaid state debts. The real estate empire, which manages hundreds of apartments across five Swedish counties, has also faced criticism from tenant organizations regarding maintenance issues and utility disruptions.
