Annika Lau discusses son's ADHD diagnosis

German moderator Annika Lau has shared personal insights regarding her ten-year-old son Baz’s ADHD diagnosis. In an interview with Gala, Lau described the emotional challenges the neurobiological developmental disorder presents for her family.

Lau noted the difficulty of managing the coexistence of her son’s traits, describing him as simultaneously intelligent and quick-witted, yet also prone to lethargy. She expressed concern regarding the social impact on children with ADHD, stating that they often face rejection and are frequently blamed for their behavior rather than receiving positive reinforcement.

To manage the emotional stress, Lau admitted to using crying as a personal outlet. She also observed strong personality similarities between her son and his father, actor Frederick Lau, noting their intense but brief conflicts.
