Annunziata Miolli, feminist activist and Radio Donna co-founder, dies at 100

Annunziata “Nunni” Miolli has passed away at the age of 100 in Spoleto, Italy. A prominent figure in the 1970s feminist movement, Miolli was a co-founder of the Roman housewives' collective.

She gained historical significance as one of the survivors of the 1979 assault on Radio Città Futura by the Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionari, an event that occurred during the broadcast of Radio Donna. Radio Donna was a pioneering space created by women to provide a platform for female voices and political organization, specifically targeting housewives to help them overcome social isolation.

Spoleto Mayor Andrea Sisti expressed condolences, noting that Miolli’s life served as a testament to civic engagement and the struggle for women's rights. Her experiences were recently documented in the book “Le appassionate,” which collects testimonies from women who fought for democracy and civil rights.
