ANO 2011 candidates address municipal priorities and housing in Czechia
Candidates for the ANO 2011 movement are outlining their priorities and facing scrutiny ahead of upcoming municipal elections in the Czech Republic.
Rostislav Šťastný, a leader for ANO in Vysoké Mýto, has emphasized fiscal responsibility and the need for transparent public spending. He stated that investments in infrastructure, such as roads, schools, and public spaces, must be prioritized based on actual community needs and long-term maintenance costs rather than just securing subsidies.
In Slezská Ostrava, ANO candidate Richard Vereš is facing questions regarding his use of municipal housing. Vereš confirmed he has been renting a 107-square-meter city apartment since 2020, noting that he invested one million CZK into its renovation. Local officials stated the apartment was assigned in accordance with rules allowing direct allocation for city employees, following a period where the unit was vacant and in need of repair.
