ANO International Church Organ Festival celebrates 10th anniversary on Syros

The ANO International Church Organ Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary on the island of Syros. This year’s edition, themed ‘10 Years of ANO – 200 Years of Hermoupolis’, coincides with the bicentennial celebration of the founding of Hermoupolis.

Organized by the Catholic Diocese of Syros and the Association of Greek Catholics of Syros, the festival highlights the historic organ of Saint George Cathedral. Built in Italy in 1888 and fully restored in 2019, it is the oldest functional church organ in Greece.

Under the artistic direction of Stefanos Tsialis, the program features concerts, musical collaborations, literary readings, and exhibitions. Notable participants include the renowned organist Olivier Latry from Notre-Dame de Paris and a musical meeting between Catholic and Orthodox communities at the Saint Nicholas Church.
