Ano Kerasovo to host 18th Chestnut Festival and trail run

Ano Kerasovo will host the 18th Chestnut Festival and the inaugural ‘Arakynthos Trail Run’ on October 17 and 18, 2026. The event is co-organized by the Municipality of Agrinio and the Cultural Environmental Association of Ano Kerasovo.

On Saturday, October 17, the Arakynthos Trail Run, titled ‘The Chestnut Path,’ will feature a 13-kilometer course starting and ending at the Ano Kerasovo square at 3:30 p.m. A one-kilometer race for children will follow at 4:00 p.m. The technical support for the race is provided by the Agrinio Health Runners Association.

The festivities continue on Sunday, October 18, with the 18th Chestnut Festival at the village stadium starting at 11:00 a.m. The festival will include an exhibition of local products, with chestnuts as the primary focus, and musical performances by the orchestra of Yiannis Katsigiannis. A portion of the festival's proceeds will be donated to support the Homeless Structures of the Municipality of Agrinio.
