ANO leads in Prague municipal election poll
A recent opinion poll by Median for PrahaIN indicates that the ANO movement is leading in the upcoming municipal elections in Prague, with 23.3 percent of the vote. The STAN movement follows closely in second place with 22.6 percent.
According to the survey, seven political entities could enter the Prague City Assembly. These include the SPD with 5.4 percent and the Motorists with 5 percent, both meeting the threshold for a mandate. Other projected results include the Spolu pro Praha coalition (ODS and TOP 09) at 13.9 percent, Praha Sobě at 12.9 percent, and the Pirates at 10.8 percent.
Median director Přemysl Čech noted that ANO’s solid preferences stem from the movement successfully anchoring itself in local politics across the country. Conversely, he suggested that parties currently in national opposition are facing the burden of the current Prague leadership, noting that the performance of the mayor and the fragmentation of opposition parties may be impacting their results. Approximately 20 percent of voters remain undecided.
