Anogeia secures Green Fund financing for bioclimatic urban redesign

The Municipality of Anogeia has secured €248,558 in funding from the Green Fund’s ‘Environmental Balance Actions 2026’ program for the bioclimatic redesign and functional transformation of the ‘Metochi’ area. The total project budget, including VAT, is set at €323,144.

The project covers approximately 1,546.69 square meters at the entrance of Anogeia. It aims to create 41 private vehicle parking spaces and one bus space using high-reflectivity colored paving stones and cool materials. The redesign includes the planting of shade trees and shrubs, an irrigation system, and a stormwater drainage network.

To enhance energy efficiency, the plan incorporates modern LED lighting powered by photovoltaic panels. Additionally, the project will provide new urban equipment and accessibility infrastructure for persons with disabilities (PWD). Anogeia Mayor Sokratis Kefalogiannis stated that the intervention is designed as a modern, bioclimatic, and environmentally upgraded public space that goes beyond mere parking organization.
