Anomaly Road horror game set in Japan to launch on Steam

Liner Studio has announced that its upcoming anomaly-horror title, “Anomaly Road,” is scheduled for release on Steam on November 6, 2026. The game is an escape-style experience set on a mountain road in Japan, where players must navigate through bizarre phenomena and strange occurrences.

The final version of the game will feature 60 unique anomalies, ranging from frightening and dangerous encounters to humorous or beautiful occurrences. Influenced by the “liminal spaces” aesthetic seen in titles like “Exit 8” and “The Backrooms,” the game tasks players with observing their surroundings carefully to escape looping roads.

“Anomaly Road” serves as a spiritual successor to the “Anomaly” series, which includes “Anomaly Intersection ~Shibuya~” and “Anomaly Railroad.” The game will support 11 languages and includes features to mitigate motion sickness, such as a center-point display.
