Anorí: Military operation liberates kidnapped youths and community leader
Authorities in Anorí, Antioquia, have successfully liberated three young people who were kidnapped on August 28 in the Charcón corregimiento of Liberia. The rescue followed a military deployment involving the Colombian Army's 14th Brigade, the Rapid Deployment Force No. 7, and support from the Colombian Aerospace Force.
The operation included aerial surveillance and troop insertion to locate and protect the victims. The kidnapping, which authorities initially attributed to members of the Clan del Golfo, also involved the detention of a community action board president. While the three youths and the community leader have been released, authorities continue to monitor the situation in the region.
