Anorthosis and Karmiotissa draw 2-2 in final friendly

Anorthosis Famagusta and Karmiotissa played to a 2-2 draw in their final friendly match before the start of the championship season.

Anorthosis took an early lead in the 4th minute through a goal by Evangelos Charalambous. However, Karmiotissa equalized in the 43rd minute following an own goal by Lopes during a corner kick clearance attempt. Karmiotissa then took the lead in the 48th minute with a header from Reynolds.

In stoppage time, Anorthosis was awarded a penalty following a period of sustained pressure in the Karmiotissa area. Ilias converted the penalty in the 92nd minute to secure the draw. The match also saw Karmiotissa's goalkeeper leave the pitch with a stretcher following a collision during the penalty phase.
