Anorthosis Famagusta appoints Barak Itzhaki as head coach

Anorthosis Famagusta has officially announced the appointment of Barak Itzhaki as its new head coach. The 42-year-old Israeli returns to the club where he previously played as a footballer during the 2012-13 season.

Itzhaki’s recent coaching career includes serving as Head of Football Operations at Maccabi Tel Aviv and leading Beitar Jerusalem, where he secured the Toto Cup title in October 2025. His primary objective with Anorthosis is to ensure the team's survival in the first division.

While the club has not officially disclosed the financial terms, Israeli media reports suggest a multi-year agreement. Estimates regarding his compensation vary, with some reports citing potential earnings between 180,000 and 300,000 euros annually, potentially including performance-based bonuses.
