Another Page app promotes reading to reduce social media distraction
Another Page is a new mobile application designed to reduce time spent on distracting social media and video platforms by encouraging reading habits. Available on both Android and iOS, the app functions by creating a pause between a user's impulse to open a distracting app and the actual usage.
Users can select specific applications they wish to limit and set reading goals. When attempting to open a restricted app, the user is instead presented with a page from the Another Page app. Access to the selected apps is only granted once the user has met their established reading targets, and even then, access is limited to a predefined period.
The application features a library of over 4,500 public domain works available in 12 languages. It includes functionality for searching by title or author, offline reading capabilities, and offline dictionaries for nine languages. The app also supports accessibility features such as TalkBack on Android and VoiceOver on iOS.
