ANPACT conducts fifth reforestation event in Mexico

The National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor Producers (ANPACT) conducted its fifth reforestation event, titled ‘Reforestación ANPACT 2026’, at Cerro Tortugas in Huixquilucan, State of Mexico.

Approximately 120 volunteers from 15 member companies participated in the initiative, forming 10 brigades to perform forest cleaning and planting activities. The group planted 700 oyamel trees, a native species selected for its role in carbon capture, biodiversity protection, soil conservation, and the recharging of aquifers that supply the Valley of Mexico and the Valley of Toluca.

ANPACT Executive President Rogelio Arzate stated that the initiative aims to strengthen environmental actions and create a positive social impact by working with local communities. The event included representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), and the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), who emphasized the importance of collaboration between industry, government, and local populations to restore ecosystems.
