Anpan Matsuri festival held at Michi-no-Eki Otofuke

The Anpan Matsuri, an event celebrating various styles of sweet bean bread, was held on October 10 at Michi-no-Eki Otofuke in the Tokachi region, an area known for wheat and red bean production. Organized by Tokachi Mainichi Shimbun and sponsored by Yotsuba Milk Products, the festival featured 11 local shops, two high schools, and seven famous bakeries from both within and outside the prefecture.

Large crowds gathered before the 10:00 AM start to purchase specialty items. Students from Obihiro Agricultural High School saw their “anpote pan”—a combination of sweet potato and white bean paste—sell out in approximately 10 minutes. The event also included local food trucks and stage activities such as bingo games.
