Anpi opposes Autieri d'Italia national gathering in Sestri Levante

The Anpi Sestri Levante section has expressed formal opposition to the upcoming XXXII national gathering of the Autieri d'Italia, scheduled to take place in Sestri Levante from October 9 to 11, 2026. The association has written to Mayor Francesco Solinas and the municipal council to question the selection of the location.

Anpi representatives argue there is no specific historical or territorial link between the Autieri and the Sestri Levante or Tigullio regions, noting that the association's historical presence in Liguria is centered in Genoa and Savona. The group expressed concern that the event's military character, featuring active and retired personnel and military ceremonies, may contradict local efforts to promote a culture of peace and could influence younger generations toward militarism during a period of global rearmament.
