ANS studies new adjustment mechanism for health insurance plans
The National Agency of Supplementary Health (ANS) is studying a new mechanism for adjusting individual and family health insurance plans. The proposal involves a ‘technical review’ that could allow operators to pass economic imbalances to beneficiaries.
Under the discussed draft, operators proving financial instability in their individual plan portfolios could apply technical adjustments diluted over three to five years, with a limit of up to 20% annually. This would be in addition to the standard annual adjustments and age-based increases. Experts note that this measure is currently a proposal and is not yet in effect.
