Aínsa and Calasanz begin 900-year commemoration of Carta Puebla

Authorities and historians from Aínsa and Calasanz recently met to begin commemorations for the 900th anniversary of the Carta Puebla de Aínsa. This historical document was granted by King Alfonso I El Batallador in 1127, providing rights and privileges that facilitated the development of the town during the Middle Ages.

The event in Calasanz, organized by the Centro de Estudios Literanos (CELLIT) and the local City Council, included visits to the Romanesque hermitage of San Bartolomé and historical lectures. The gathering serves as a precursor to the official 900-year anniversary celebrations scheduled for February 1, 2027. The initiative aims to strengthen historical ties between the two locations and promote the cultural heritage of the Sobrarbe region.
