ANSA and Czech experts simulate response to grapevine disease
The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) in Moldova, in collaboration with experts from the Czech Republic’s Central Office for Testing and Control in Agriculture (UKZUZ), conducted a simulation exercise to prepare for the detection of grapevine flavescence dorée. This phytoplasma-based disease poses a significant economic threat to the viticulture sector.
The exercise, held on October 8, 2026, was part of a project aimed at improving phytosanitary control and testing capacities in Moldova. The simulation focused on rapid intervention procedures, including identifying and delimiting affected areas, monitoring vineyards, collecting laboratory samples, and establishing eradication measures to limit the spread of the disease via insect vectors.
