ANSA destroys three tons of rice due to pesticide residues

Nearly three tons of Arborio rice have been destroyed following inspections by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) in Moldova. The seizure involved three separate lots, each weighing approximately 980 kilograms.

Laboratory analyses confirmed that the rice contained levels of piperonyl butoxide residues exceeding the maximum permitted limits. According to ANSA, none of the non-compliant lots reached the commercial retail network or consumers.
