ANSA Merchant Bank announces financial services restructuring

ANSA Merchant Bank Limited has announced a proposed reorganization of its financial services businesses, aiming to establish a centralized structure for sustainable growth and innovation. The plan, targeted for implementation on January 1, 2027, involves transitioning ANSA Merchant Bank Limited into a financial holding company to be renamed ANSA Financial Holdings Limited (AFHL).

Under this new structure, ANSA Bank Limited will serve as the single licensed operating commercial bank within the ANSA McAL Group of Companies, consolidating the merchant bank’s existing banking operations with ANSA Bank’s retail and digital capabilities. AFHL will provide strategic oversight and governance for the group’s diverse portfolio, including ANSA Bank, ANSA Wealth Management Limited, ANSA Financial Holdings (Barbados) Limited, and Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Limited.

The reorganization is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. The company stated that the move is intended to enhance digital banking capabilities and provide customers with greater convenience through a more integrated platform.
