ANSA proposes simplified rules for small food producers in Moldova

The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) is proposing new regulations to simplify procedures for small food producers in Moldova. The initiative aims to allow individuals to prepare and sell food products from home legally without disproportionate investment or complex authorization processes.

Under the proposed changes, small-scale producers could sell goods directly to consumers, via home delivery, or at fairs and markets. The new system would allow certain activities to begin through a simple notification process rather than requiring prior inspection or formal authorization.

Additionally, the proposals extend to the HoReCa sector, including restaurants and cafes, by expanding the notification mechanism for specific low-risk activities. The plan also includes reducing the frequency of planned inspections for low-risk operators and adapting hygiene and transport requirements to suit the scale of small businesses.
