Ansan begins road expansion project on Daebu Island
Ansan City has officially commenced the second phase of the Daebu Hwanggeum-ro expansion project. The construction aims to widen a 2.8km section of the main arterial road connecting the north and south of Daebu Island from two lanes to four lanes.
The project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion caused by tourists and residents during weekends and holidays, while improving accessibility to major local tourist attractions. The city aims for completion by December 2028, with the current progress rate at 5%.
Additionally, Ansan City was selected for the ‘2027 Our Neighborhood Clean Air Package Support Project,’ securing 2 billion won to improve air quality by replacing aging pollution prevention facilities at small businesses. The city also received the ‘2026 Korea Healthy City Innovation Award’ for its efforts in reducing health disparities and expanding community health infrastructure.
