Ansan City demonstrates smart parking navigation service

Ansan City and Hyundai AutoEver held a demonstration for a smart public parking navigation service that guides drivers to specific vacant parking spaces. Unlike traditional navigation systems that only direct drivers to a parking lot entrance, this technology integrates real-time parking data with vehicle navigation to provide status updates from the start of the trip and direct guidance to an available spot upon entry.

The demonstration, conducted at the Jungang Station transfer public parking lot, verified the technology's field applicability through actual vehicle operation. This public-private partnership was developed through a proof-of-concept (POC) at the Jungang and Gojan Station parking lots without requiring additional municipal budget.

Ansan City plans to expand this smart parking information usage by including 17 smart public parking lots in the ‘2026 Address-Based Parking Information Construction and Parking Navigation Demonstration Project’ led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX).
