Ansan City provides 500 million won subsidy to Entegris Korea
Ansan City has awarded a 500 million won subsidy to Entegris Korea, marking the first instance of financial support following an amendment to the city’s investment promotion ordinance. The city increased the maximum subsidy limit from 200 million won to 500 million won last year to encourage corporate investment.
Entegris Korea, a subsidiary of the US-based Nasdaq-listed company Entegris, established the Entegris Korea Technology Center (KTC) at Hanyang University ERICA Innovation Park. The company invested approximately 50 billion won to build the six-story semiconductor research facility, which began operations in July last year.
The center focuses on researching materials for core semiconductor processes, including chemical mechanical planarization (CMP), thin-film deposition, and cleaning. Currently employing about 50 researchers, the facility plans to expand its workforce and research scope into areas such as deposition precursors and wet etch chemicals.
